Combining dark or bittersweet chocolate and tahini paste will give you incredibly delicious chocolate truffles with optional mix-in ingredients like nuts, seeds, or dried fruits. This satisfies those chocolate cravings without all the added sugar of typical desserts.
Some of my friends like to visit me because they know I always have a freezer full of sweet treats, but others don’t, for that exact same reason. But not everything I make is loaded with butter and sugar, and these fudgy chocolate squares are proof. They are made with only 2 ingredients – chocolate and tahini, and I know what you’re thinking – tahini? Doesn’t sound great. But you’re wrong. It’s DELICIOUS. And you can barely taste the tahini in there. It’s a perfect healthy treat for a chocolate craving, and did I mention it takes 3 minutes to make?
You can add your favorite nuts or dried fruit to the mixture. I love to add peanuts or pistachios. For round truffles instead of squares, refrigerate the mixture, then roll into balls. This mixture yields 30-40 balls, depend on the size you want.
Healthy Chocolate Tahini Truffles (2 Ingredients)
Combining dark or bittersweet chocolate and tahini paste will give you incredibly delicious chocolate truffles with optional mix-in ingredients like nuts, seeds, or dried fruits. This satisfies those chocolate cravings without all the added sugar of typical desserts.
Ingredients
- 10.5 oz (300 g) 54%-60% cocoa dark/bittersweet chocolate
- 1 ½ cup (300 g) tahini paste
- optional – ¾ cup of your favorite add-ins like chopped nuts , seeds, or dried fruit
Instructions
-
Place chocolate in a heatproof bowl and microwave in 30-second increments, stirring between each, until chocolate is melted. Add tahini and whisk until combined and smooth. Stir in nuts. Spread into an 8×8-inch pan that’s been lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate until set, at least 3 hours, then cut into 36 squares. Keep in the fridge as they will start to melt at room temperature.
Recipe Notes
Need it sweeter? Mix in pitted & chopped medjool dates for added natural sweetness without adding refined sugar.

Hi shiran! what can be an alternative for the tahini paste?
Shiran says
Because there are only 2 ingredients, the tahini can’t be substituted in this recipe.
Ruth Horenstein says
Rhea Rona, I’ve made a similar recipe that uses coconut cream instead of tahini.
The proportions aren’t the same. Only a few tablespoons of coconut cream.

can this be scaled down to say around half a dozen truffles ? what would be the measurements be then ? Love your site …everything i have tried has been delish
Shiran says
Thank you so much! Sure, you can make as many truffles as you like. It really depends on the size of your truffles, but for a small quantity, you can third the recipe.

Hey! Looks great! Can it have raw cocoa powder instead of a chocolate block? 🙂
Shiran says
Hi Radhika, chocolate and tahini are both necessary for this recipe, so unfortunately you can’t replace the chocolate with cocoa powder.

Hi Shiran,
Thanks for sharing this recipe! Can I know if Light/White or Dark/Brown Tahini is used? 🙂
Shiran says
I’m using raw tahini (sesame seed paste, made from sesame only), and it’s bright in color.
Cherale says
Hi Shiran,
Thanks for ur reply! I believe it’s hulled tahini then?
Also, when adding in the tahini, the chocolate would have to be off the heat am I right?
Thanks much again! 🙂
Shiran says
I use hulled tahini because I like its flavor and texture better, and yes, Add the the tahini to the chocolate after melting it (off the heat). Enjoy! 🙂

Great! Thanks alot Shiran & apologies for the late reply! Have a great wkend! ?
